An amusing structure that brings the complications of a drawbridgedown to a more human scale. The bridge is narrow because it only transports foot traffic across a short slough. The bridge deck is suspended from four arms that reach across the gap. Counterweights on the arm tilt them up, and they in turn lift the bridge deck. It's a very common arrangement for pedestrian drawbridges in The Netherlands, but something of a curiosity for the States.
